This group of hardworking graphic designers helped us pull together all of last year’s images and stories into our annual book of adventures, which will go on sale Wednesday! We are so thankful for their creativity and professionalism to help us produce this stunning inaugural volume I
Dillon recently graduated from CATC Design School, Sydney, with a Diploma of Graphic Design and was also the recipient of the DIA (Design Institute of Australia) Professional Encouragement Award. Dillon is a lover of all things creative and struggles to find one particular field his favourite. Along with graphic design Dillon also has a love for photography. It was this love that later influenced him to start his own creative magazine, known as Hanker Magazine. He produces Hanker quarterly and features creatives from all over the world within the fields of art (all mediums), photography, design and illustration, creative writing, fashion, music and everything in-between. It was the skills developed through this experience that lead to Dillon’s involvement with the first annual Portrait Equality publication, laying out the content for this book. Dillon connected with us as he also has a love for travelling and in 2012 set the goal to travel to a different country every year.
Justine graduated in 2012 in a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication (First Class Honours) & Bachelor of Arts in International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Since graduating she has had the opportunity and experience to work at some of Sydney’s leading design studios, however she also jumps at the opportunity to use her skills and knowledge as a designer to collaborate with others, especially for great causes. Hence, she was only too eager to jump at the chance to join the Portrait Equality team, as a volunteer in the design of their first annual Portrait Equality publication. Having lived abroad and being an avid traveller, Justine is all too familiar with the important and precious nature photos place, especially family portraits when away from home. She also hopes sometime soon she can be a photographer for us as well, on her next adventure. Justine produced the Chapter pages and overall maps for this book.
Flavia is a graphic designer who loves to play around with colourful illustrations. Born and raised in Brazil, she’s spent the last 10 years living in Italy, Spain and now in Australia, where she’s discovered a hidden fascination for the ocean. Flavia is passionate about the unique feeling of travelling that makes her feel in constant change. Three years ago while in a tiny village in Laos, she stayed much longer than she originally planned in a quiet and charming guesthouse run by a Mr. Po. Just before leaving, Flavia took a photo of Mr. Po and his family, as he only had a few pictures himself, and promised she would send it to him. Although she did, she never knew whether it arrived. When Flavia learned about Portrait Equality, she immediately knew she wanted to collaborate with the project. Flavia produced the infographics for this book.
