Originally her plan was to head to Europe this year, but she changed her plans upon seeing some cheap flights online to India. Being her first trip overseas by herself, she expects that Portrait Equality is not only going to benefit families without portraits of themselves, but will also be a great experience personally.
She will be taking Rosella to Delhi, Pushkar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udalpur, Jaipur, Agra and Varanasi in August.
Her favourite picture of loved ones is actually 2 images that are almost identical. Gabby was in Melbourne with her Mum and Sister riding the Puffing Billy in Menzies Creek when she was 13 years old. The picture is of their legs hanging out the window as it was travelling along. Six years later they went back and got an almost identical photograph in the same position. It’s special to her because it reminds her of all of my family who live in Victoria, and of her Nan who passed away in the same year the original picture was taken.
