Jonathan will be heading to Kenya and Zanzibar for his 40th birthday. His personal travel bucket-list is long but he longed for a place with epic adventure and rich culture. In Kenya, he will be in Nairobi for a few days and then a week in the Masai Mara reserve tracking the Great Wildebeest Migration.
He chose Zanzibar as the next stop after Kenya, because of its proximity, he loves island tropical life and the history of Zanzibar really spoke to him. Zanzibar’s placement along the African slave and spice trade routes allowed other cultural influences from around the world to permeate its shores - the Assyrians, Sumerians, Persians, Indians, Egyptians, Omani Arabs, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch and English have all contributed to its character.
By leveraging off his street photography experience, Jonathan will be able to freely and openly exchange with people, even if it’s just a smile, this will go a long way into capturing a powerful moment.
Jonathan’s favourite photo is of his family from four years ago at Christmas time because it has his late cat in the photo.
